Mini-Review Assignment #3 - I Love Lamp

Winnebago Man

In my mind I think Winnebago Man is a great movie due to the comedy in it as well as how a viral video on the interweb can affect a person’s life in a good way and a bad way. In Winnebago man we see a viral video about a Winnebago salesman named Jack Rebney who has a slight anger issues. But other than the laughter we get out of the way Jack acts, there's a good lesson behind the film. In the film they interview and the talk to jack about how he handled the video. Jack explains that he was very "pissed" off about everyone seeing it, so he moved to an area where no one could find him and became a hermit. The movie shows how even though it's funny that it's kind of wrong putting stuff on the interweb without the permission of the person.

Back To The Future

     Back To The Future in my opinion is a good movie for its comedy in it as well as the suspense it gives to the viewer. I think it's a good movie because it has some good comedy such as the libyan terrorist scene when they find Doc, It's a little racist but funny at the same time. The movie is also good due to the suspense it gives the viewer. For Example when Marty was trying to get back home and the cord unplugged, gee willikers it was close! Also the story itself is good; the story goes together like Peanut butter and Jam. Even though I don't like time travel movies I liked this one! So you take the good, you take the bad, you take them both and there you have the facts of why Back to the Future is a good movie.

Friday - Rebecca Black

     I think Rebecca Black's song Friday is one of the greatest songs to happen. I think The song Friday is the greatest because first of all her voice is amazing, she sounds like a mixture between Justin Bieber and Prince. Secondly the song reaches out to the teens now these days about the problems they face in their daily lives like should they kick it in the front seat or sit in the back seat? Thirdly the song teaches kids the days of the weeks like when it’s Friday, the day before that is Thursday. Also after Friday is Saturday and Sunday comes afterwards. Without Rebecca I would still be thinking Thursday was after Saturday and Sunday was before. So for these fantastic points is why this song is the greatest to happen in the music industry.

Martial Arts Films


Martial Arts Films first film was back in 1928 that was The Burning Of The Red Lotus Temple. But the films did not popular untill the 1970's with the rise of Bruce lee in his first movie Fist Of Fury. The Genre changed alot since it began such as the effects, voice's, and it got more expensive to make.
     There was alot of actors, directors, and writers who impacted the genre but a couple made the films more popular such as:

• Bruce Lee - Actor, Director, Screen writer
• Jackie Chan - Actor, Director
• Jet Li - Actor
• Chuck Norris - Actor

     I would describe martial arts films as a action packed film with a good story to it. They use alot of low camera angles to make the person look tough, and they use a little high and level angles in fight scenes to show the surrondings. The music playing is old orchestra music for fight scenes that gets really intense. Mostly chinese stared in the films but in recent films there are different races.

Captain's Log #4

I think the filmmaker created the film because he is really passionate about the cause. During the movie you see all about his views and thoughts on copyright. He brings up artists that he admires for the artists talents and abilities such as Girl talk, and Dan O’Neill. I think the filmmaker made this film so that people could see the good side about illegal downloading and the benefits. He shows that people are not just downloading to rip off the artist, or steal their beats. They want to be able to listen to that artist and also tell their friends about that group. They just don’t want to pay over the amount they want to for it. There are some artists that are creating great new music by using beats from other artists that isn't theirs. I agree with the filmmaker that you shouldn't have to pay for online music downloads if you don't try to say you made it. 

Captain's Log #3

"Citizen Kane" the "greatest film ever" is still in my mind a okay film but to say it is the greatest film is a little difficult to believe. Back in 1941 when Citizen Kane was showed in theaters it could of been the greatest back then but not today. I Think it is a okay film because I personally don't like black and white. I also found it kinda long and a little boring  But The good parts I like about the film that the actors where good and also I liked the special effects they used in some scenes like the table they split in half then put it back together once the camera went through it. But in conclusion I don't think it is one of the best films but probable once was.

Captian's Log #2

Justin Bieber - Baby
  Reality in this video is presented in a not so ordinary way. I think it was presented in that way because its a cooler way to get a girl is by dancing and singing, plus they are not wearing bowling shoes when their bowling.
  The video uses Construct reality because everyone looks super fly, as well as good dancers and the girl falls for him at the end because hes such a great dancer and singer.
  In the music video the creeds or values are if you sing and dance to a lovely lady your more then likely to get the girl.
  This video would appeal to teenagers by the slick moves he makes and by all the nice clothing in the video.
  Overall I think this music video is not the greatest due to it has nothing really to do with the song lyrics and that its not really realistic. Maybe if they had bowling shoes on when bowling it would be more realistic...
